Shortcut is a design studio based in Mexico City working as full-stack partners on product, brand, and the engineering that makes both real.

Shortcut was founded in late 2023 by Jay López, Fabian Luna, and Omar Tosca, who had already been shipping together for nearly a decade.
The team met at 23 Design, the studio Fabian co-founded in 2015, which Jay and Omar joined within its first year. Over five years there, the team helped build some of the most-used digital products in Latin America, working with companies like Bitso, Albo, Luuna, and Pictoline, backed by firms like 500 Startups, Village Global, and Innovation Endeavors. In 2020, frog acquired 23 Design and built its first Latin American studio around it. The team stayed on through that transition, then left in 2023 to start Shortcut on their own terms.
The problem kept repeating across those years: senior design help was hard to find and slow to hire. Shortcut is the team companies were trying to hire.
Today the team works mostly with fintech and financial services companies across Latin America, alongside consumer products, education, and a range of other digital product and brand clients. AI-driven workflows are standard practice across the studio. Jay, Fabian, and Omar are all co-founders and stay hands-on across every project.
